Volunteer Opportunities for June and July

If you’re looking for ways to Do The Most Good in your community, please see our volunteer opportunities below. We get many requests to volunteer during the summer, so sign up before the spaces fill up!

Ongoing – Hawaii Island – Kona Thrift Store

Volunteer at The Salvation Army Kona Thrift Store! One hundred percent of all proceeds from our Kona family thrift store go to the programs and services in Kona. This is a fun and fulfilling way to help families in Kona! Click the link above to view details and contact information.

All Islands – Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Hawaii Island – LEON Day

6/25/15 – LEON Day (Noel spelled backwards, marks halfway to Christmas) is a special day for The Salvation Army in Hawaii. It is a time for us to remember that there are people in need all year round, not just during the holidays. For this reason, we ring bells at our red kettles at participating Walmart and CVS Caremark/Longs Drugs locations. Join us in ringing bells on this exciting “Christmas during the Summer” day! Email Victor Leonardi at victor.leonardi@usw.salvationarmy.org to sign up.

7/18/15 – Oahu – Summer Event and Back to School Drive

For keiki, going back to school without the proper school supplies can be discouraging. We need volunteers for a Summer Event and Back to School Drive at Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center! This summer event will not only help us collect school supplies for underprivileged youth, but we will also have games, craft booths, rides, and more! Click the link above to see details and contact information.

7/26/15 – Oahu – Outdoor Beautification Project in Kaimuki

We are looking for volunteers who love the outdoors! Our campus in Kaimuki is in need of a few things for the families who attend the programs. The campus is in need of picnic tables/benches, simple landscaping, etc. If you or your company/friends are interested, please click the link above for details and contact information.

  1. Looking for volunteer opportunities Kona side for my ten year old daughter over the summer. Do you have anyway she can help? At the thrift store? Working with younger kids? Maybe 1-3 days per week? She has her own business, is personable, mature, good with money, and we are believers. Mahalo
