A Message from our Divisional Leaders
Aloha to our Salvation Army ‘Ohana,
We are so excited to celebrate National Donut Day this Friday with our donut partners Regal Bakery on Oahu, Krispy Kreme on Maui, and Daylight Donuts on Kauai! This is the first year we are celebrating Donut Day on Kauai and Maui. We are also partnering with the DAV on Oahu to give out free donuts at the Tripler Army Medical Center. We look forward to the free donuts and all of the donut photos that will be shared on Instagram. Don’t forget to tag your photos with #HawaiiDonutDay and follow us @SalArmyHi!
This week also is the beginning of hurricane season for our division. Chuuk, Guam, and Saipan have already experienced typhoons in the last two months. We were blessed to have community support in Guam to send supplies to Chuuk, the island most affected by Super Typhoon Maysak. In Hawaii, our corps are preparing to respond to the communities’ needs by stocking their food pantries. Families are able to receive food supplies and canned goods throughout the summer and during or following a disaster. If you’d like to donate to our family food pantries, click here.
We hope to see you all on National Donut Day on Oahu, Maui and Kauai! Some of our staff or officers will be there to greet you at Regal Bakery, Krispy Kreme and Daylight Donuts. Be sure to take a photo if you see a Donut Lassie and tag us on Instagram!
Mahalo and God Bless,
Majors John and Lani Chamness
