A Message from Our Divisional Leaders
Aloha to our Salvation Army ‘Ohana,
We hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend. We took some time this weekend to honor and remember those who have so courageously given their lives for our country. We also sent prayers out to families who have lost their loved ones.
Since World War I, The Salvation Army in the United States has been serving those who have fought for our freedom. We were there for our troops in the trenches, providing food, supplies and even religious services when needed. In Hawaii, The Salvation Army was one of the founding organizations of the USO Hawaii and aided in providing services to lift the spirits of troops and their families. We are so grateful to the men and women who serve our country, because we understand their sacrifice is for our freedom.
This weekend, we also held our Aloha London Fun Fair for our Divisional Hula Halau Hula Ka Lei O Ka Haku. They were selected to perform in London in early July at Boundless 2015, an international Salvation Army celebration of 150 years of service to those in need around the world. Our halau will proudly represent the Hawaiian Islands and share the Aloha spirit.
Lastly, we’d like to remind you to take part in our Donut Day festivities on June 5.Enter our Donut Flavor Challenge on Instagram by June 1 for a chance to win free donuts for a year. More information here.
